Structural Adhesive GDSA20 400ml

GLUEDEVIL GDSA20 is a two part structural toughened acrylic adhesive that is ideal for bonding similar and dissimilar surfaces.

It is a primer less adhesive that has good gap fill and rapid cure advantages. It produces assemblies mechanically equivalent or stronger than conventional metal fastened parts at lower cost and weight. The material forms a strong thermoplastic with excellent resistance to shear, peel and impact stresses.

PROPERTIES:

GLUEDEVIL GDSA20 is designed to bond thermoplastic, metal and composite materials such as in the aerospace, electronics, transportation, marine, wind energy and engineering construction industries. Used in sign manufacture for bonding metal signs and so replacing the need for welding or mechanical fasteners.

APPLICATION DETAILS:

Recommended Substrates:

• Metals – Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, and Powder coated metals.
• Thermoplastics – Acrylic, Styrenics, ABS, PVC/CPVC
• Composites – GRP/FRP, Epoxy, Polyester & DCPD modified, Vinyl Esters, Urethanes, Gel Coats, Carbon Fibre.

Non-Recommended Substrates:

• Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Nylon, Polytetrafluoroethylene, Polyacetals

Surface Preparation:

Surfaces should be clean, dry and grease-free before applying the adhesive. Isopropanol is recommended to clean the surfaces. Mechanically abrading or chemically etching surfaces can make bond joints more durable and stronger. If abrading, a second treatment of degreasing is highly recommended.

Application:

Dispense the adhesive at slow rate initially onto a non-bonding surface until the bead colour is in a uniform opaque grey. Dispense enough adhesive to fill the bond gap before parts are joined. Avoid dry bond, by using adequate pressure to join parts and clamp properly to prevent joint movement within 15 minutes of application. Handling strength with be reached after 40 minutes.

STORAGE:

GLUEDEVIL GDSA20 has a shelf life of 12 months (the expiry date is shown on the packaging), when stored at a temperature between 15°C and 23°C in its original unopened packaging.
