  • CONTACT ADHESIVE is a general-purpose adhesive which offers superior bond strength without requiring clamping or sustained pressure. GlueDevil CONTACT ADHESIVE is water and heat resistant (up to 80°C) and is easily brushable.

APPLICATIONS

  • GLUEDEVIL CONTACT ADHESIVE is perfect for bonding rubber, leather, carpet tiles, resin laminates, wood, hardboard, metal, canvas, linoleum, felt, cork, ceramics etc. Full strength is obtained after 24 hours. Coverage = 2 to 3m2 per litre, depending on the substrate

SYNONYM: Contact Adhesive. Yellow barge.
TRADE NAME: GD 1000 Contact.
MATERIAL USES: Bonding various materials like leather, wood, board, rubber etc.
COMPOSITION: Solution of polychloroprene and resins in hydrocarbon solvents.
APPEARANCE: Viscous yellow liquid.
DENSITY: Approx. 0.840 g/cm³
VISCOSITY: Approx. 2500 cps
APPLICATIONS:

This product is recommended for general bonding of various substrates such as board, Melamine, laminates, wood, cloth, leather, etc. It is recommended that testing is done prior to production to establish suitability of the product.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Clean both surfaces by wiping with a suitable solvent or by roughing. Apply a single coat of adhesive to both surfaces and allow to tack dry (approximately 10 to 20 minutes). Press together firmly to obtain bond. The higher the pressure applied the better the bond strength. Allow 24 hours for full bond strength to develop.

HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION:

Extremely flammable liquid and vapour. May cause flash fire. May cause eye, skin irritation, may be harmful if absorbed through skin.  Risk of cancer depending on duration and level of exposure.

ROUTE OF ENTRY:

Eye contact, Inhalation, Ingestion.

POTENTIAL ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS:
EYES: Hazardous-Irritant.
SKIN: Hazardous-Irritant.  Skin inflammation is characterized by itching, scaling, or reddening.
INHALATION: Extremely hazardous if inhaled (lung irritant) Over exposure can be fatal.
INGESTION: Hazardous in case of ingestion.  May be fatal if swallowed.
MEDICAL CONDITION:

Aggravated by overexposure.  Repeated exposure to highly toxic material may cause general deterioration of health by an accumulation in one or many human organs.

FIRST AID MEASURES:
EYE CONTACT: Check for and remove any contact lenses, flush under running water, seek medical attention, do not use eye ointment.
SKIN CONTACT: Thoroughly wash with non-abrasive soap under running water.  Cover irritated skin with emollient.
INHALATION: Seek medical attention.  Remove to well-ventilated area.  Loosen tight clothing.  If breathing is difficult administer oxygen.  If needed perform resuscitation.  Seek medical attention.
INGESTION:

OVEREXPOSURE

DO NOT induce vomiting.  Seek medical attention immediately.
SIGNS / SYMPTOMS: CNS depression, headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting.

FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARDS IN PRESENCE OF OTHER MATERIALS:

Dry Powder, CO2. foam or water fog.

Wear MSHA/NIOSH approved self- contained breathing apparatus and full protective gear.

ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES:

SPILL: Absorb with inert material and follow appropriate waste disposal regulation.  Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.  Check TLV levels.

HANDLING AND STORAGE:

Keep locked up in fire- proof store.  Store below 20 deg. C.  Fit extractor fan to remove any fumes before entering store.  Ground all equipment when decanting.  Keep containers closed.

EXPOSURE CONTROL:

PERSONAL GEAR: Wear splash goggles, full cotton overalls, vapor and dust respirator (MSHA/NIOSH APPROVED) and solvent resistant gloves.
